The Tree of Life Community Public Charter School

The Tree of Life opened in September 2000. The Tree of Life provides a family friendly learning environment that targets African American students with below grade level academic performance. The curriculum emphasizes reading and literacy through flexible, individualized instruction targeted to meet the needs of the students. The Tree of Life believes family services are critical to each student's educational success. To this end, they seek strong parental involvement and offer family-literacy services to students and their families. The Tree of Life was chartered by the D.C. Public Charter School Board in 1999.
