KIPP DC: LEAP Academy

KIPP DC has now expanded to three middle schools (KEY, AIM, and WILL). In the summer of 2007, KIPP DC opened its first elementary school, LEAP Academy. KIPP DC/KEY Academy was founded by D.C. educators and community members interested in establishing a college preparatory middle school that replicated the successful KIPP academies in Houston and the South Bronx. By using mandatory summer school, Saturday school, and extended hours during the week, the academic program will offer students an intensive foundation in the core academic subjects with an emphasis on developing the knowledge and skills necessary for success in school and life. KIPP DC has now expanded to three middle schools (KEY, AIM, and WILL). KIPP : DC Leap Public Charter School opened September 2007.
