DC Public Charter Schools
KIPP DC: AIM Academy
KIPP DC: AIM Academy is the partner school of KIPP DC: KEY ACADEMY, one of the highest performing
charter schools in Washington, DC. AIM Academy will open in the summer of 2005 in the Congress Heights
neighborhood. The school will serve 80 students in the fifth grade. Each following school year we will add a
grade until we eventually grow to serve 280 students in grades 5 through 8.
Our mission is to empower our students with the academic and character skills necessary to succeed in high
school, college, and in life. In order for students to succeed academically, AIM will provide a safe and
structured environment with innovative and engaging teachers. Teachers will be available via cell phone to
parents in the evening. In addition, parents will receive a weekly progress report updating them on their
child's progress. Every child will also be provided with extra tutoring and enrichment activities. We have
a fair and consistent discipline plan that holds students accountable for their actions. For more information,
