Mission of the Ideal Academy Public Charter School is to create and implement institutions and programs, which help students to develop fully in areas related to their mind, body, spirit and emotions. Students who receive "Ideal" education are empowered to excel in all academic and personal growth activities; to positively and productively handle challenges and stresses; to appreciate the fine arts; and to express their own creativity, intuition and critical thinking skills in order to solve problems and positively contribute to the quality of life. Ideal students are able to understand, accept and respect themselves and others; to appreciate and live in accordance with the very finest socially acceptable and life supportive standards, values and moral; and to work together with others regardless of sex, race, color or creed - in order to make positive contributions to their family, community, the city in which they live, and ultimately, the world. IDEAL Academy Public Charter School was chartered by the DC Board of Education in 1999.
