Eagle Academy Public Charter School serves children from the age of three (Pre-School) through Kindergarten. The mission of Eagle Academy is to have each student ready socially, emotionally, personally, and academically to succeed in elementary school, through high school, and to succeed in adult life. The philosophy of Eagle Academy is that each child develops at his/her own pace and the educational program must support the student's learning when the student is ready. How quickly a student learns is not indicative of how capable a student is. Students who master the fundamentals of reading and mathematics and learn to enjoy their ability to solve problems will succeed in school academically. Students must also learn to work with others effectively and to participate positively in building a school community. Each student must also learn to appreciate her/himself as an individual. Eagle Academy was chartered by the D.C. Public Charter School Board in 2003.
