Children's Studio School is a 30 year-old community-based arts organization, studio complex, and a full-day school of the arts and architecture for young children. Engaging highly accomplished artists of diverse disciplines and cultures as complete teachers, the school is internationally recognized and has received numerous awards for its unique pedagogy of Tran cultural Arts-As-Education © The School was awarded its charter in 1996 and reopened in 1997. It was one of the first accredited schools for young children in DC. Children's Studio School of the Arts and Humanities Public Charter School was chartered by the DC Board of Education in 1996.
