Washington, D.C. - The D.C. Public Charter School Board (PCSB) will host a community meeting and enrollment fair on Thursday April 3, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. The community meeting and enrollment fair will take place at the Stanley Chapel on the Armed Services Retirement Home, 3700 North Capitol Street, NW. This gathering will give parents an opportunity to learn about the school's closing and alternative school options for next fall.
In a written statement submitted on Friday, February, 29, 2008, Tri-Community informed the D.C. Public Charter School Board (PCSB) of its intention to relinquish its charter and close at the end of the current school year. The PCSB officially accepted the decision during its March 17, 2008 meeting. Charter schools that serve Pre K-5th grade have been asked to share information about their programs with Tri-Community families.
The D.C. Public Charter School Board currently oversees 55 public charter schools on 82 campuses, serving more than 22,000 students in every ward of the city. Community members with questions or concerns may call the PCSB offices at 202/328-2660 or email: dcpublic@dcpubliccharter.com.
