Washington, D.C. — The D.C. Public Charter School Board will hold public hearings on the 13 charter school applications on Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School, 1100 Harvard Street, NW.  Details of the schedule are listed below. 

Schools will present in panels followed by questions from the Board. Then the public will be allowed to testify on issues related to the proposed public charter schools represented on each panel.  Those issues are, the impact proposed public charter schools will have on (1) students, parents, and communities; (2) other public schools in the District of Columbia; and (3) the quality of education in the city.

During the public comment period, each speaker will be allotted up to two (2) minutes.  Individuals who wish to testify should notify the Board by 3:00 PM on the day of the hearing at 202-328-2660 and should send, by March 29, 2010, a written copy of their testimony to the Board to dcpublic@dcpubliccharter.com.
